What you will accomplish in this step
- Install WordPress from Hostinger’s hPanel.
- Set up the administrator login details.
- Access your WordPress dashboard.
- Resolve the most common access problems.
You have the foundation. Now activate it
In the previous step, you registered your domain name and purchased your web hosting. You therefore already have an address and a space on the internet. In Scale & Own’s WordPress journey, this is the step where your website begins to take shape.
Installing WordPress marks the beginning of this transformation.
From this point onwards, you will have an administration dashboard, a system for creating content and a genuine structure on which to develop your online presence.
With Hostinger, this process can be completed with a few clicks using the installation assistant. If you use another provider, do not worry: the steps are generally very similar.
How to install WordPress from your hPanel
If your domain name and hosting are already active, you only need to install WordPress from your hosting panel, create your administrator login details and connect it to your domain name.
The process takes a few minutes. Here is how to do it with Hostinger.
01
Access your Hostinger account
- Open www.hostinger.com in your browser.
- Click “My Account” (in the top right).
- Sign in with your username and password.
02
Open the “Websites” section
- In the left-hand menu, click Websites.
- Click the Add Website button.
- From the drop-down menu, select WordPress.
03
Create your WordPress account login details
At this stage, you will create the main administrator account for your website.
This account will allow you to access the WordPress dashboard, manage your content, install tools and configure your project later.
On the “Create login details for your WordPress account” screen, enter:
- The WordPress administration language
- The WordPress administrator email address
- The administrator password
Then click Next.
Warning
Keep this information in a safe place or in a password manager. You will need it to access the WordPress dashboard. If you lose it, recovering access may require several additional steps.
04
Select the foundation for your website
At this stage, you will be offered three options:
- Create a website with AI
- Pre-built websites and themes
- Create a blank website
Scale & Own recommendation
For this journey, we recommend starting with a blank website, without choosing a pre-built template.
This allows you to build your website from a clean foundation, without inheriting the structure or styles of a template that you would then need to remove.
Starting with a clean foundation will also help you understand how WordPress works and retain more control over your website’s structure.
05
Choose the domain name where WordPress will be installed
Here, you need to select the domain name on which you want to install WordPress.
- Click the “Domain name” field.
- Select the relevant domain name from the list.
- Then click Next.
06
Installation complete
When the process is complete:
- Your WordPress website is active.
- Your domain name is correctly connected to your web hosting.
- In most cases, the administration dashboard opens automatically.
If it does not, do not worry. In the next step, you will learn how to access your WordPress dashboard manually.
How to access your WordPress dashboard
There are two ways to access the dashboard.
From Hostinger
- Open “Websites”.
- Click “WordPress Admin”.
Recommendation
Hostinger’s AI assistant is a particularly useful tool for beginners. It can help you resolve technical difficulties, find solutions quickly and even complete certain settings for you.
From your browser
You can also access it directly from any browser.
To do this:
Enter your website address followed by /wp-admin in the address bar.
Example: yoursite.com/wp-admin
On the login screen:
- Enter your username.
- Enter the password you set during installation.
- Click Log In to access the system.
This will be your point of entry whenever you want to publish, create content or configure your website.
Common problems and how to avoid them
If something does not work, check the following points:
Make sure you selected the correct domain name during installation.
Make sure you do not confuse your Hostinger login details with your WordPress login details: they are two different accounts.
Be sure to store your WordPress username and password correctly from the start.
You have activated your website’s system
Now that WordPress is installed and you know how to access the administration dashboard, it is time to become familiar with how it works.
In the next step, we will go through the WordPress dashboard and prepare a clean, configured environment that is ready for you to start building. The goal is for you to be able to move forward confidently.
